Private Foundation Alternatives

Your client either doesn’t have the substantial resources needed to start a Private Foundation ($10,000,000 is recommended) or lacks the time to oversee its administration. The Texas Forest Country Community Foundation(TFCCF) can help you and your client consider Donor-Advised Funds, which is a simpler, more cost-efficient alternative than a Private Foundation.

CONVERSION OF PRIVATE FOUNDATIONS TO DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS

If a few of your clients have their own private foundation, they may be interested in learning about the benefit of converting it to a Donor-Advised Fund with the TFCCF. A Donor-Advised Fund offers a simple solution to individuals and families who may want to reduce administrative costs and not be subject to annual payout requirements. This solution is also an option for family foundations that are being divided with estate transitions to accommodate multiple generation families residing in different communities.

CONTRACTING WITH TFCCF FOR MANAGEMENT SERVICES

All or any part of the public interface function of a client foundation can be combined with data management and retention by TFCCF. The decision-making of funding can be retained by the client foundation board. Preparation of applications, including due diligence, can be provided for board meetings. Administrative support and maintenance of records, and all other documents required for management can be provided. All of the above can be flexibly included in a fee-for-services agreement.
