Become a Charitable Partner

The Texas Forest Country Community Foundation (TFCCF) invites other Foundations within our 12 county region to partner with us and let us be the public interface between appropriate grant requests and the funding process.

More can be accomplished when we act together. We believe in the power of collaboration and joint action to maximize our communities’ opportunities and respond to our challenges. We initiate, participate in, and support foundation partnerships that build community vitality and are based on shared vision and mutual responsibility.

How we help our partnering Foundations?

• Provide administrative support in preparing Agendas for Board Meetings; preparing Board member packets; provide recording secretary to prepare meeting minutes; distribution of the minutes; storage of minutes for future reference.
• Provide coordination of all grant applications to Foundations with integrity and confidentiality.
• Field Phone calls from grantees with questions.
• Follow a strict due diligence process with each potential grant to ensure the grantee is in compliance with regulations pertaining to charitable giving.
• Perform a rigorous qualification process of those charities applying for grants by researching the status of applicants 501(c)(3) with the IRS and assure they are up to date with IRS filings.
• Assure that all applicants have provided the proper documentation as required.
• Present only qualified charities to the Foundation’s Board for approval.
• Notify each applicant of the results of the partner Foundation’s consideration.
• Send as soon as possible, letters of approved grants with checks enclosed for the awarded amount or an explanation of a differing amount.
• Send appropriate thoughtful letters explaining a declined grant.
• Follow through the activities intended with the awarded grant.
